Mandatory jail time for gun owners who improperly store their weapon and then used in the maiming or murder of a child.

How many times in recent years have we heard of children who have been maimed or murdered due to the recklessness of the average gun owner improperly storing their weapon? How many lives could be saved if gun owners faced stiffer penalties for their weapon falling into the hands of a mentally unstable individual who then uses that weapon in the commission of a murder of a child. As a nation, we need to demand that gun owners be held accountable for owning and maintaining their weapon in the home.
