Mandatory Mental Health Evaluation for Gun Licenses

Created by C.I. on December 18, 2012

Mental health evaluations should be done before allowing any person to purchase a weapon to insure the person is mentally capable of handling a weapon and obeying laws.

In light of the recent slayings at schools, malls, movie theaters, political rallies ect. we need tougher gun control laws. I am asking that any person that goes to purchase a weapon is required to go through a mental health exam, by a licensed Psychiatrist or equivalent.Proof of mental stability would need to be provided before a weapon could be purchased. To decide if a person is mentally capable of handling a gun should include anger control evaluation as well as a standard mental evaluation. This should be in conjunction with the already required background check.

Thank you for your consideration.
