Mandatory Personal Firearm Insurance= Much like automobile owners, gun owners should be required to carry liability insurance for damages caused by the gun. The gun itself must be insured; model, make, capacity would factor into market forces in determining premiums. Corvettes pay more than Fiats, assault more than single shot. Owner of gun responsible for damage caused by gun regardless of who is operating it (just like car). Promotes responsible ownership with expense, cannot buy gun w/o proof of insurance.
Gun must be registered like a car annually and proof of insurance would be the prerequisite.
This should be federally mandated and grandfather firearms despite the "model, make, year."
