This system will create jobs, generate taxes, and reduce unnecessary tax spending.
Legalize marijuana. Since 1965 over 20 million Americans have been arrested for marijuana related offenses. Of those, many have been incarcerated. Stop wasting our taxes to feed, clothe, and house these citizens.
Tax marijuana. The government could impose a hefty tax on smokers as an additional source of income, much like some states have with tobacco.
Regulate marijuana. Americans' current system of getting marijuana involves drug cartels from Mexico. If the government regulated marijuana, these sellers would no longer have buyers, causing less crime.
Educate about marijuana. Many countries in Europe have taken this approach and drug use has gone down in teens and young adults.
