Marriage Privatization: Let individual citizens, not the government, define marriage for themselves.

Privatize the “marriage” industry; this is the only win/win situation for both sides the marriage issues that divides us.
Government, remove the term "marriage" from your vernacular and replace it with "civil union". You can continue to govern over civilly united couples. But allow the term marriage open for individual interpretation.
Why continue the trend of polarized politics? Rather than forcing one side to subscribe to the opposite side’s beliefs, let people decide for themselves. Must each side be so arrogant and bigoted to impose our beliefs on another?
If the government takes a stance in defining what is or is not a marriage, half of the country will lose. Let the government concern itself with civil matter let individuals concern themselves with private matters.
