Do away with marriage in the context of religion. Create a Domestic Partnership with a legal agreement between any two people who choose to share their lives together. Make it legally binding within certain established parameters with legal recourse for dissolution should it become necessary.
Leave any religious ceremonies or vows up to the individuals and their spiritual beliefs.
