Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Citation Laws

Created by N.A. on November 22, 2014

In Massachusetts a law exists that if you get three moving violations within two years, you are obligated to attend an 8 hour defensive driver program or risk suspension of license. The charges can be improper equipment such as license plate lights being out of working order, inspection stickers outdated, etc... After attending the 8 hour course you can not receive another moving violation for at least another year or until earlier citations are two years passed their conviction dates. I believe that the Massachusetts government should enforce this rule, however after attending this course I believe that the Massachusetts government should reset your driving record after attending the 8 hour driver course, allowing for 3 more moving violations before having to take this course over again.
