We the people ask the federal government to Change an existing Administration policy:

Maternity leave should be 3 months 100% Paid (in addition to annual leave, sick leave and short term disability leave)

Created by J.K. on September 12, 2016

Maternity leave for mothers should be 3 months 100% paid for all employees i.e. for ALL corporate employees, federal employees, non-profit employees, church employees etc.

It should be paid leave in addition to annual leave, sick leave and short term disability leave since a mother should still have annual leave available to spend time with family and friends. She should also have sick leave available to take care of herself and/or her newborn in the event she or the child gets sick during the year. Short-term (and long-term) disability should only be used for true disabilities and not be encouraged to be used as 'maternity leave' since it should rather be available and used for unforeseen circumstances, if they were to arise in the immediate future and not need to have to worry about it.
