In 2015 the Colorado supreme court upheld the firing of a quadriplegic man, Brandon Coats, for his use of medical marijuana of duty to control his seizures, which is legal in Colorado. Coats even said "I wouldn't be able to actually work if I didn't have it. I'd be sitting there going (shaking body) you know, who can work like that? I can't even sleep like that".
This is not an isolated incident and as it stands there is no federal protection for those who use medical marijuana. People are fired every day for their use of legal medical marijuana and it is unfair, and entirely inhumane to force someone to make a choice between their career and their health.
