We ask the government to only allow medical or surgical abortions before 10 of pregnancy. This can protect the fetus' life and the mother from risks. A baby's heartbeat can be heard and seen when you are around 8 weeks pregnant. It also allows the parents of the baby and their family some time to carefully think about their decision after hearing the heartbeat of their child.
