The ban on Primatene Mist, December 2011, an OTC asthma inhaler, that has worked for millions of sufferers for some 50 years, needs to be lifted immediately. The FDA has within it power to approve the new HFA version, which was submitted before the ban was implemented, but has chosen to continue to require "additional" tests. This has left American's literally gasping for air. Reports have shown a rise in asthma related emergency room visits. That is a fact. The hidden and unspoken reason is due in part to this ban. The CFC amounts in a "puff" of a medication cannot be compared to other sources of banned products and uses. The pain and suffering caused by this ban is real and causing great hardships, in some cases requiring a change in work and lifestyle and needs to be corrected now.
