To meet with legislators to address the need for accessible mental health care for all and related public education.

Created by R.T. on December 14, 2012

We demand that legislators immediately meet with the president to fix the broken mental health care system. We demand a comprehensive approach that addresses accessibility, affordability, prescription coverage, and public education as to de-stigmatize mental illness. Mental illness is still considered a "taboo" subject in the public dialog. We request better crisis intervention. We request better diagnostics and family support. These matters should be addressed by forming a think tank that uses the input from mental health care providers and citizens/families affected by mental illness. Severe mental illness needs to be treated as a disability, and afforded the same rights. We need better intervention to prevent crisises such as the events of 12/14/12.
