Melt down all pennies currently in circulation and use them to create a giant, metal Abe Lincoln automaton

Created by J.J. on February 11, 2014

In 2013, the average cost of making a single penny was 1.83 cents - a ludicrous figure and a sign that the penny has to go.

In 2012, violent crime rose 0.7% from the previous year, with a total of over 1.2 million reported cases.

Though seemingly unrelated, these data present an obvious conclusion.

All pennies currently in circulation should be collected and melted down. This molten metal can then be used to craft an enormous, metallic reanimation of Abe Lincoln that will be tasked with single-handedly enforcing justice in America and restoring the peace.

The Zinc-rich material provides the ideal material for casting/shaping; the Copper fraction provides structural soundness.

As the most logical proposal of the century, I can only ask why this hasn't already been done
