I feel that Congress is out of touch with the average American. I propose that ALL members of Congress have their wages cut to the Federal Minimum wage and they must live on that wage for a period not exceeding one(1) year but not less than ten(10) months. They are not allowed to have access to previously held holdings/savings nor are they allowed to take monies from lobbies during this time.
They must present a budget online to their districts for constituents approval. Travel will be at the members expense and will come out of their budget. Campaign funds CANNOT be used. Car pooling is encouraged.
At the end of the time period, we will see how much sympathy Congress has for the average American making Minimum wage.
