Mental health crisis in America

Created by R.M. on December 30, 2016

42.8 million Americans suffer from a mental illness such as bipolar, depression, schizophrenia. Many are homeless or in up end jail or hospitals. There is a shortage of people to help them and make sure there are taking meds. One case manager has a 50 person caseload. While many can't afford meds therapy and the basic necessities to control the illness. I call for mental health to be a mandatory insurance and free for any one who cannot afford it. As well as for people with mental health who are in jail to have alternative jailing options that includes classes and prevention in how to avoid jail in the first place which still makes them liable but learning from there mistakes. As well as mandate therapy for people with smi client to reduce crisis . As well as gun violence in public.
