Mental health should be on the agenda and screenings and regular checkups should be as common as a regular physical from a physician. If people are ill or depressed, they need help, plus it would help identify potential threats. I think that we should bring mental health out from dealing with specialties such as treating only the most obviously ill, or those who seek it out, and into common public practice. People shouldn't feel embarrassed or ashamed for seeing a doctor regularly, no more than they would going in for a physical. And, like previously stated, it would help to flag potential threats to public safety, hopefully far in advance of any terrible acts of cruelty or self destruction.
