Using authorities granted as the Commander-in-Chief, The President should direct the Army Chief of Staff to Merge Army's two investigative agencies into one pan-Army investigative entity.
Army CID and Army CI's separation has resulted in a duplication of manpower, funding and provided openings for individuals such as Nidal Hassan commit acts to harm the United States Army in the name of foreign actors.
These two Army commands should be reorganized into an agency modeled after the FBI, free of command interference and placed on mission to the 24/7 protection of the U.S. Army from all hostile threats. The aforementioned organization would also provide unprecedented opportunities for budget savings in this time of fiscal austerity.
