The Middle Eastern Refugee Crisis as Decided Through Popular Sovereignty (Voter Referendum)

Created by M.C. on July 09, 2016

The Middle Eastern refugee crisis continues to become larger and more dangerous everyday. The United States simply cannot let these people in due to conflicting cultures, social norms, and morals. If they desire a better life, then why aren't they fighting in their against ISIL for their homelands and beliefs?
My proposal is a vote based on popular sovereignty to determine whether or not refugees from the Middle East should be given the right to enter the United States. This is definitely an issue which must be decided by the United States citizenry and them alone. The United States must act on this problem yet Congress and the Chief Executive both seem all too dysfunctional to do much about it. This is a grievance echoed by many Americans, and it must be answered swiftly and properly.
