Mike Rogers should not be considered for FBI Director because of his lack of understanding of technology.

Rep. Mike Rogers has demonstrated a profound lack of understanding of technology through his unwillingness to address very real concerns regarding privacy in the terribly flawed CISPA legislation that he sponsored. Much more is needed of an FBI director in addition to the technical law enforcement skills possessed by a former agent. An understanding of his broader responsibilities to the Constitution and to the ways in which modern communications technologies impact the right of privacy are needed by the individual who would be FBI Director. Rogers has shown none of these sensitivities. In fact, he seems bent on introducing even greater government intrusiveness into our lives as a substitute for a rational discussion of legitimate security concerns.
