George Washington, when pressing Congress for benefits for Revolutionary War veterans, argued that if future generations were to be expected to fight in defense of their country, then veterans of the Revolutionary War must be take care of. In this spirit, we believe that every veteran of the Armed Forces of the United States, upon their retirement from active duty, should be provided free medical care for life at any medical facility in the United States. The cost of this program can be shared by the Pentagon and the American people via a one-cent per gallon tax on gasoline.
