This petition is to request that the Department of Defense work with Law Enforcement to employ a cross training between active duty military personnel and law enforcement officers. If employed, this program would allow active duty military personnel to volunteer to train with law enforcement and serve the community when not deployed. This program should also allow law enforcement to receive training from military personnel to strengthen relations between law enforcement and the military. The military and law enforcement share a cause on different fronts. Cross training will help veterans obtain an apprenticeship in law enforcement and help law enforcement in the intercultural and counterterrorism training the military offers.
