Soldiers learn numerous skills in the military that easily translate to civilian world jobs, jobs that are in much need of skilled workers. Skills such as an (88M) Motor Transport operator, this soldier has learned how to safely drive trucks of various sizes and loads in normal and extremely harsh environments. The same skills that a civilian driver will have learned the military driver must meet and exceed for combat proficiency. Yet the soldier will have to exit the military force go to a trucking school pay numerous sums of money and time to attend just to learn the same skills they have already acquired on the governments dime just to acquire a civilian equivalent CDL.
