Military Tax

Created by D.M. on March 05, 2013

Military Tax: The funds needed for the military should be separated from the general funds and become a separate tax unto itself like Social Security and Medicare. The funds needed for the military should be obtained only from payroll and capital gain taxes. The military budget should be funded at 100% per calendar year. Therefore, the tax will change according to the needs of the military.
By having a military tax, the cost of the military will become relevant in citizens daily life. There will be a shared sacrifice when conflict erupts because citizens will be contributing towards any military action by increased taxes. By having engaged citizens, this will result in more accountability and greater discussion in policy.
