Mint a commemorative set of quarters for the 50th anniversary of NASA's Apollo missions.

Created by C.C. on October 28, 2014

With the advent of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo missions to the Moon upon us, what better way to honor the occasion than with a commemorative quarter set to be put into circulation?

Utilizing the successful model of the 50 State Quarter Program, America the Beautiful Quarters, Presidential $1 Coin Program, and so on, such coins would educate and inspire the public like previous programs have done as well as generate a market for collectors.

Beginning with Apollo I in 2017 and ending with Apollo XVIII in 2022, each coin would display the mission patch for all of the manned Apollo flights would be prominently displayed on the reverse side of the quarter.

As we move into the final frontier with Orion and SLS, it is important to remember our heritage and this is the way to do it!
