Stop misusing tax dollars to fund a war with no cause, no true reason except distraction, no true enemy and no real end with the current policy the way it is. The war on drugs was has and will always be a failed effort. We learned from the prohibition of alcohol that banishment of a substance doesn't work.
I saw on the president's policy on drugs that last year the drug cost on the nation was over $193 billion. How much of that was spent fighting the "war on drugs"? With legalization and regulation comes understanding, not to mention you could use some of that left over $100 billion to further educate young people about drugs and their effects.
Organized crime would diminish, people who are scared of seeking treatment due to prosecution would come forward, and people would be educated.
