Mississippi Regimented Inmate Discipline: Help educate young offenders on the importance of self-discipline

Created by T.T. on January 27, 2016

Regimented Inmate Discipline:

Mississippi first time felony offenders may be slipping through the cracks and missing out on future opportunities to be productive citizens in society. Under House Bill 906, the RID program will be shut down. The RID program teaches offenders how to march, perform facing maneuvers, self-discipline, trade-craft, GED certification, discipleship, fatherhood, anger management, and a comprehensive drug and alcohol treatment program. It consists of 6, 35 day phases in which the offender is expected to show improvement or face the time on his/her sentencing order.

Our petition requests the continuation of the RID and private oversight and overhaul. Tupelo, MS based start-up "Mid-South Media, INC" will be gathering petitioners and sponsoring awareness programs.
