Mobilize the United States and the international community to end the Ebola epidemic before it spreads globally.

The purpose of this petition is to ask the American government to provide a direct and robust response to the rapidly spreading Ebola outbreak of 2014. The directors of both the Centers for Disease Control and Doctors Without Borders have stated that the crisis is rapidly "spinning out of control" and that an unprecedented international health response is necessary to bring the outbreak's spread to an end. Providing direct assistance through health care non-governmental organization (NGO) funding, military biohazard response units, and humanitarian aid are not only the right thing to do from a humanitarian perspective; they are also the necessary steps to be sure that this outbreak does not become a global pandemic of historic proportion and effects.
