The refugee crisis in the Mediterranean is the greatest of it's type since World War II. Everyday there are reports of children and entire families drowning as they try to escape horrific terror and bloodshed. Greece has been tremendous in it's humanitarian response but is near a breaking point. With the failure of the European Union to mount an adequate response, it is then incumbent upon the US, NATO and the UN to respond. The US has the greatest Search and Rescue capabilities in the world that must be brought to bare to prevent anymore needless deaths. As a former US Coast Guard Veteran, I can not think of a better mission for our Nation to perform. Please join me in this critical call to action!
