TRICARE networks currently exist to provide health care to military personnel and retirees, their families and survivors.
We need President Barack Obama signed an executive order with similar ACCESS TO HEALTH CARE LIKE TRICARE for veterans, service members and their families.
THE EXECUTIVE ORDER SHOULD give veterans more access to private sector health care, at the VA’s expense, rather than forcing them to commute long distances to a VA facility or to endure long delays to get a VA appointment.
The VA already has authority to refer patients to civilian providers when it can’t get timely care inside the VA. But, to hold down costs, it has used this authority sparingly. This option should not be given to the VA . This should be an option for all veterans.
