Our returning veterans currently face delays of up to a year in being approved for VA benefits. Our troops deserve far better than this, and the problem is complex. We believe that through a modernization of records, better information-sharing and a streamlining of the bureaucracy, we can achieve a more expedient and efficient approval and/or appeals process for veterans wishing to obtain their benefits.
We propose a commission or task force be created in order to reform the VA in order to better serve our returning veterans, many of whom have serious medical needs. It is the least we can do for those who risk so much on our behalf. This would include but not be limited to: technology, administration, and possible legislation to address these issues.
