This great nation is strong because of those Americans who have made the ultimate sacrifice, yet we are made to identify ourselves as "White", "Hispanic", "African-American". Generations of families speak proudly of their ancestors. Ancestors that have called themselves American citizens, soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines. When times are rough, we power through as Americans. We rally to the call of the American people when we are threatened, and we celebrate the American life in times of victory. I will always carry an immense pride of where my family has came from, and who they were; however, I am an American. My parents were Americans, as were their parents and grandparents before them; and when I am asked what my ethnicity is, I will always say - American.
