The aim of this petition is to give American citizens more confidence in our government by making proposed laws easier to read and understand by explaining the intent of each piece of legislation.
Because the original intent can be lost or even subverted by the language, length, or last minute changes, this petition asks the White House to take action and modify bills introduced by the House or Senate by adding a section of Intended purpose for proposed laws.
The idea is that it should be concise and specific, unambiguous, written in plain English, and limited to 1,000 characters or about 250 words. If the bill contains anything contradictory, unrelated, or ambiguous according to the Intent then the bill should not be able to become law
