H.R.5736 - Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012 (Without Senate oversight) allows for the federal government to lie to the American public through domestic propaganda. Although propaganda is an effective tool for our fight against terrorism, it should not be allowed to be used against or within the United States to sway public opinion or channel a thought process for political means. Signing this petition will bring to light the need to keep America informed with the truth rather than misinformed with propaganda. America is a great nation because Americans can think for themselves. If that human right is taken away, or if our right to the freedom of thinking for ourselves is removed through a proliferation of "Thought Management", then our plight is to become victims of our own fear.
