Moratorium on use of Colonial oil pipeline pending investigation and proven safety improvements

Created by S.E. on November 01, 2016

The Colonial Pipeline runs under or near the homes of hundreds of thousands of US citizens. The leak of more than 250,000 gallons of gasoline in September 2016 and the fatal explosion of 31 October 2016 appear to be symptoms of a flawed safety culture which potential put hundreds of American lives at risk.

We request a moratorium on the use of the pipeline pending a thorough Congressional investigation, structural review of the length of the pipeline and overhaul of the safety and risk mitigation practices within the Colonial Pipeline Company itself.
