Shotguns in western and southwestern Alaska are becoming expensive. The modern day Eskimos now use shotguns instead of Bow and Arrows to hunt for waterfowl. With the expenses rising, its harder to buy a 12 gauge shotgun due rising Gas & Oil prices, electric bills, and food prices. I'm a subsistence hunter myself, and i saw the gun prices rise 50% more than last year. My 12 gauge automatic shotgun is nearing its 10 years of service, and it is hard to keep it in firing condition. This year, it is retiring after 1 flock of water fowl.
