Teachers are the heros of our society. Without teachers, no successful adult would be where they are at. In the wake of the Connecticut tragedy, support for teachers and education reform needs to be addressed immediately.
Teachers endure severe criticism from parents and those not in the field of eduction. They are expected to work miracles with disturbed children, helicopter parents and parents who are not involved at all. They are expected to not only teach the content of their subject, but to protect and serve. To provide social skills, help students in personal matters and even investigate problems at home.
