move to abolish the death penalty in the (34) states, federal government & United States military.

Created by A.C. on September 22, 2011

A public opinion poll conducted in 2010 by Lake Research Partners found that 61% of Americans do not support the death penalty.

Not only is the death penalty, or "capital punishment" a barbaric sentence; it is based on the idea that our judicial is fool-proof. We know now, in 2011, more than ever before that this is just simply wrong. From a system wrought with racial, class, religious, gender, and other bias related issues; come verdicts not often based on evidence at all.

We all recognize that there are innocent men and women in prison. We all should recognize that the death penalty is not only unjust but that on even the small chance that these prisoners are innocent, we should not be committing anyone to die at our hands.

Abolish the death penalty.
