American religious organizations receive, in proxy, a benefit of more than $71 billion a year in tax payer subsidization due to their status as a tax free charity entity, this status is a virtual carte blanc to make as much money as they wish with no oversight as to the use or the means by which these funds are earn. No other organization enjoys such vast freedom from oversight as religious organizations while doing the very least to contribute to a productive society. While actual educational and humanitarian portions of religious organizations are duly deserving of a tax free status, the mere existence of a group of people occupying a building is not worthy of a government exemption of taxes.
In addition to this, religious organizations are free to earn dividends and pay no gains tax.
