Move all election days to weekends and/or holidays to improve voter turnout.

Created by J.K. on January 03, 2014

Voter turnout in the general election for president and many other federal elections is very low compared to past turnout rates and compared to many other democracies around the world. There are various reasons that this occurs, but a main cause is the timing of elections. Many people who don't vote say that they simply don't have the time to vote (for example they can't get off work). By moving election days to weekends and/or holidays (days where people have more free time) more people will have the time to vote, and voter turnout will increase without a doubt. More people voting results in elections that are more accurate, so I urge you to please support this petition.
