Move all public holidays to the nearest Friday or Monday.

Created by E.F. on August 12, 2012

New Year's Day, Independence Day, Veterans Day, and Christmas Day are observed on the same calendar date each year regardless of what day of the week it happens to be.

This can result in weeks that are broken up by a holiday or holidays that inauspiciously fall on a Saturday or Sunday.

Holidays are important to the morale of every working American and to national cohesion, family unity, and social harmony.

It's time we make holidays, not about their calendar date, but about what they represent and the benefits that they bring to our society.
