Move away from beef farming to help reduce the emission of greenhouse gases

Created by K.B. on December 31, 2014

The methane and CO2 produced by farming cows accounts for around 50% of our greenhouse gas emissions in the US. not to mention that more than half of the food (and clean water) that we produce in this country is used for farming animals. This is gigantic issue in our society that needs to be stopped immediately, it's not sustainable and has proved to cause irreversible damage to not only our land in the form of nitrogenating the ground, but then leaking into our water systems and creating "dead zones" in the oceans. Beyond that, most of the $40 billion in corn subsidies that we supply in this country every year goes to feeding those farm animals, the remainder, goes into corn syrup that is rapidly making Americans more obese by the minute. dumb name but look up the documentary "cowspiracy"
