The US DEA currently classifies Cannabis, in all its forms, as a Schedule 1 drug, which has strangled research into its potential medical benefits. " Schedule I drugs, substances, or chemicals are defined as drugs with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse. Schedule I drugs are the most dangerous drugs of all the drug schedules with potentially severe psychological or physical dependence." This puts Cannabis in the same category as LSD, heroin, methamphetamine, and PCP. This is not only scientifically and physiologically absurd, it's also halting research into a substance that could prove to be as medically valuable as aspirin. Please issue an Executive Order to move Cannabis to Schedule 3, to enable more research. Thank you.
