This petition is to increase the focus and effort to make the transition to the SI (metric) system of measurement. It is an important step to regaining a leadership role on the world stage and one to remove the roadblock currently in place, forcing our citizens to use an antiquated system of measurement not utilized by an overwhelming majority of nations on the planet.
If a renewed emphasis is generated to begin the infusion of SI (metric measurement) across all curricula (beginning in pre-school), the impediment to more effective movement on this issue will disappear in 12 to 16 years.
