Mass shootings and gun violence have become too commonplace in this country. It is time to rethink how we interpret the second amendment.
The spirit of the second amendment was to allow citizens of the USA to respond to an invading military force quickly. The verbiage of this amendment applies most directly today to the National Guard. It is not necessary for citizens to order food from a McDonald's with an AR-15 strapped to their back.
It is time for we the people to take back our right to be safe and secure. It is time to restrict gun ownership to military and law enforcement.
