Move the Futenma base on Okinawa to a more remote location.

Created by D.N. on June 16, 2013

Not only are local residents concerned with pollution and other negative effects of the logistics of keeping the base in the highly populated area of Ginowan, but it has a long-established history of crime and controversial accidents such as the spilling of Agent Orange in 1981 or the crash of a helicopter into the main administrative building of a university in 2004. Rape and other crimes committed by active servicemen have been a problem for the area for a long time as well.
It was agreed that the base would be relocated on October 26, 2005, but the move will fail to meet the 6-8 year deadline. Please help mend this point of contention between The US and Japan.
