Move Half of Mount Rushmore to North Dakota if South Dakota won't teach about US History before the Civil War.

Created by S.W. on September 01, 2015

In August 2015, South Dakota's state Board of Education voted to amend the states US History curriculum to focus more on investigative and analytical skills for college and career preparation. While this sounds like a positive this addition also removes all obligation for history teachers in the state to teach American History prior to the Civil War.
In light of these changes in South Dakota, if the state will no longer be teaching about George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, this petition seeks to have those presidents removed from Mount Rushmore and moved to a state that will teach about these Presidents, like North Dakota.
