The liberals will be happy to have the conservatives surrounded on all sides (especially with Canada to the North and Mexico to the South.) They will have all the amenities of living in the bigger cities and all the joys that come with it.
The conservatives will be overjoyed when the coastal areas (i.e.liberal cities) either fall off into the ocean (i.e. Calipornia) or are targeted by foreign interests/flooded by rising ocean tides (i.e. New Gork), leaving the food supply that they actually worked to produce in their own hands.
