Move Marijuana from a Schedule 1 drug to a Schedule 5 drug, and acknowledge it's medical benefits.

Created by M.R. on January 26, 2014

Marijuana is currently a schedule 1 drug, which means:
1.The drug or other substance has a high potential for abuse.
2.The drug or other substance has no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States.
3.There is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under medical supervision.
Drugs that are category 1 controlled substances:
Marijuana, Heroin, GHB, MDMA, LSD, DMT, Quaaludes, magic mushrooms.

To say that Marijuana falls into any 3 of these categories is foolish. I propose that marijuana be changed from a schedule 1 drug to a schedule 5 drug. To be a Schedule 5 drug the government must recognize the medical benefits of Marijuana. Schedule 5 would mean it's still illegal, Just classified honestly and fairly (below Xanax, "Roofies", and Heroin)
