The Postal Service should have Internet service added to its duties. Mail service expanded many years ago into the Internet. The United Nations deemed Internet Access to be a basic human right (A/HRC/20/L.13), much the same as water access.
The service should provide bandwidths at speeds that increase appropriately over the years. Current internet service areas do not cover the majority of the country, for which bill(s) have been passed to attempt to address this issue. Current internet service speeds have massively fallen behind other countries, such as Japan and South Korea, due to most states having oligopolies.
The Postal Service should offer internet access at appropriate rates, not the oligopoly's price, as well as base bandwidths to encourage the market to increase their bandwidth
