Liberty is defined as "The state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one's way of life."
The recent legislation banning soft drinks, the unrepentant stop and frisks performed by the NYPD as well as the current draconian gun legislation that is being forced on the fine people of the state of NY. It is clear that the State of NY doesn't believe in the principles of freedom of which the Statue of Liberty represents.
I hereby recommend that the Statue of Liberty be moved to state that honors the principals of liberty and freedom that it stands for.
